Acne Scars & Skin Texture
Acne scars and uneven skin texture are the long-term aftermath of inflamed breakouts. They affect how light reflects off your skin, making it look uneven even when makeup is applied.
What it is
Acne scars and uneven skin texture are the long-term aftermath of inflamed breakouts. They affect how light reflects off your skin, making it look uneven even when makeup is applied.
Common symptoms
- Pitted or depressed acne scars
- Rough, uneven skin texture
- Enlarged pores
- Discoloration where breakouts used to be
- Skin that 'looks fine up close but bad in photos'
What's actually causing it
When inflamed acne damages the deep dermis, the skin heals with disorganized collagen — leaving permanent texture changes unless actively treated.
What happens if you ignore it
Untreated acne scars do not fade on their own — and as overall skin laxity increases with age, scars often appear more prominent, not less. Skincare alone cannot remodel deep dermal scarring. Many patients live with a level of self-consciousness that could have been resolved with one or two well-chosen treatment series.
What recovery looks like
Most patients see meaningful improvement after a single RF microneedling session, with best results after a series of three.
