What it is
Burning feet — that hot, stabbing, electric pain that flares at night — is most often peripheral neuropathy. Without therapy, it gets worse.
Common symptoms
- Burning or stabbing pain in the soles of the feet
- Pain that worsens at night
- Sensitivity to socks, sheets, or shoes
- Numbness mixed with burning
- Loss of balance
What's actually causing it
Diabetes, chemotherapy, autoimmune disease, vitamin deficiencies, and idiopathic small-fiber neuropathy are the most common causes. Reduced circulation and chronic nerve inflammation drive the burning sensation.
What happens if you ignore it
Untreated burning feet progress to total numbness, loss of protective sensation, falls, and — in diabetics — wounds that can become limb-threatening. Earlier care produces dramatically better outcomes.
What recovery looks like
Our structured neuropathy program calms the burning, improves circulation, and restores function for most patients — including those told nothing more could be done.
